The compact design of Draka’s high density Category 6 Cable has saved both time and money by enabling increased numbers of cables to run in cable trays and conduits at Dixons Allerton Academy, Bradford.
Draka’s innovative high density Category 6 network cable has been installed at the £28m Dixons Allerton Academy, Bradford, West Yorkshire. In excess of 67km of Draka’s UC400 HD Category 6 Unshielded/Unshielded Twisted Pair (U/UTP) cable has been used to construct the academy’s Local Area Network (LAN).
Cabling contractor Abzorb selected the cable for its compact design. This enabled increased numbers of cables to be run in cable baskets and conduits compared to standard Category 6 U/UTP cable, saving the installer both time and money.
The high density cable’s outside diameter of 5.25mm is 25 per cent less than that of standard Category 6 cable.
