Launch of Best Use of Technology in Awards line-up

Organisations who put technology at the forefront of their business have a chance of winning a top new business award.

Entries for the 2012 Thames Valley Business Awards, now in their 18th year, have just opened and this year a new category joins the line-up – The Best Use of Technology Award, sponsored by leading technology expert Pulsant.

The award, which is open to any business operating in the IT, telecoms and science based technology sectors, will go to the company or organisation that, in the opinion of the judges, has made the best use of technology in the past 12 months.

The judges are particularly looking for innovators and problem solvers who have produced or implemented ground breaking software, solutions, systems, hardware or processes.

Other categories in the awards include the most dynamic business and the best company to work for, best management team, SME of the year, and Business of the Year category celebrates the success of the sector in the Thames Valley, while the overall business of the year award puts the spotlight on consistent performance, profitability and support for the wider community.

Entries close on 21st September, with finalists invited to the gala awards night in Reading on 15th November, when the winners will be announced by top businesswoman, entrepreneur and Dragons’ Den star Hilary Devey.

As founder and chief executive of Pall-Ex, Devey revolutionised the pallet distribution industry in the UK in the mid-1990s, creating a business network which now boasts revenues of some £100m.
