Expert advice offered at free ‘Data Centre Improvement Seminar’
Siemon is to lead a team of industry experts to host a unique series of four, Pan-European seminars, focusing on data centre improvement strategies.
Siemon’s seminar partners include IBM, Austin Hughes, Future-Tech, Daxten, GallifordTry and CB Richard Ellis. A limited number of free places are now being offered for the UK seminar,to be held on the morning of 10 May, at Pure Tech Racing near Gatwick in Surrey.
According to Siemon, this educational event brings together key data centre experts to share knowledge, discuss experiences and debate real world data centre improvement strategies. Attendees will hear from an elite line up of data centre opinion leaders, with subjects ranging from design and build, to power and cooling, monitoring, active and passive equipment, life cycles and green considerations.
An unusual venue has been chosen to provide an adrenalin inducing finale to the morning seminar, as the event is being held at the Pure Tech Racing Centre where, following lunch, attendees can experience the world’s most advanced Formula 1 racing simulators. This facility fuses the most advanced racing simulation with real world racing to create a totally new and entertaining sport – perfect for an experience seeking audience.
The audience for this event will comprise CIOs, CTOs, IT managers, data centre managers, infrastructure managers, facilities professionals, networking engineers and consultants. Seventy places are available at each event, with a programme that visits London, Amsterdam, Madrid and Paris.
The seminar programme includes:
– Chris Scott of IBM: ‘blueprint for a smarter data centre’
– Carrie Higbie of Siemon: ‘building a green data centre – the agile way’
– Pete Sands of Future Tech: ‘Introduction to infrastructure design and operational best practice’
– Richard Gray of Austin Hughes: ‘who is responsible for your data?’
– John Donald of Daxten: ‘power and cooling optimisation – extracting maximum efficiency’
– Martin Carroll of CB Richard Ellis: ‘data centre market update’
– Paul Griffiths of Weatherite: ‘utilising direct air free cooling’
‘Ultimate performance is an obvious theme with the world class racing venue chosen for this event,’ explained Siemon’s managing director, Steven Foster. ‘We believe that improvement strategies for data centres must focus first on essential performance, whilst also addressing other critical demands in terms of efficiency and environmental responsibility.
‘Just like Pure Tech, we want to put everyone in the driver’s seat; making our subjects as engaging as possible. The speaker line-up provides an unmatched opportunity for data centre professionals to hear best practice improvement advice and gain access to industry experts with invaluable expertise to share.’
The ‘European Data Centre Improvement Strategies Seminar’ is being held on Tuesday 10th May 2011, from 8.30am to 1.30pm at the Pure Tech Racing Centre in Horley, Surrey. All attendees are promised literature packs containing all the speaker resource materials.
