Regional businesses to beat path to showcase event

Benefits of IP technology revealed at IP World 2012

North east businesses are failing to take full advantage of the new IT and communications technologies to get ahead despite the region leading the way in the development of these systems. That’s the view of Stephen O’Connell, director of sales and marketing for Advantex, speaking about plans for the next IP World event being held in County Durham on 1st March.

IP World 2012 at Durham’s Ramside Hall will showcase the region’s talent and track record in providing the new technologies for regional, national and international customers.

The event follows IP World events held in previous years, all sponsored by Advantex.

Stephen O’Connell said, ‘The region needs this event to showcase the available technology to business leaders and decision makers.

‘IP World explains how new technologies can be adopted to improve business performance and offer cost savings, giving them a competitive advantage in today’s global markets.

‘Local businesses which attend will be able to better understand what’s available as well as get an insight into the benefits of emerging technologies. They will see how these technologies and systems work on one platform to streamline businesses and organisations.’

The event also marks a rare opportunity for international vendors like Cisco, Mitel, Aruba, Milestone Systems and Axis to come to together in the north east where regional suppliers like Advantex can meet and talk one-on-one with global IP leaders.

The event, which includes educational seminars and the opportunity to network one-on-one in a dedicated break out area with manufacturers, is expected to be attended by IT managers and professionals, facilities managers and directors from across the region.

There’s already a high level of interest with over 100 confirmed bookings.

The systems use the latest IT and Communications technology to improve the efficiency and capabilities of a company’s systems and processes providing significant time and cost savings in the process.

James Walker at Cisco is supporting the event. He said, ‘IP World 2012 offers a terrific opportunity for the local business community to engage with market leaders about the benefits and applications of the technology on show. That’s why we’re attending.

‘It reinforces the region’s growing presence as a leader in emerging technologies, enabling like minded individuals to meet in an environment to discuss the impact of IP on business.

‘Our solutions offer organisations and SMEs a single platform to deliver communications and IT, therefore increasing efficiency, improving business processes and saving costs.’

Advantex was founded ten years ago by brothers David and Stephen O’Connell. Now employing 40 people, it will break through the £3 million sales barrier later this year.
