Dementia is an extremely cruel disease and whether it’s Vascular Dementia or Alzheimer’s the conclusion is the same, it slowly but surely destroys the mind and personality of the person and takes away their ability to do anything for themselves.

Tracey Calcutt, marketing manager, commented, ‘Sadly, there are a few of us at Mayflex that have close relatives that suffer from the condition and so we know first hand just how cruel this disease is.

‘Dementia is terminal and there is no cure and compared to other major killers such as heart disease and cancer much more needs to be done to find a cure or to at least prolong the deterioration of the person diagnosed with dementia.’

Tracey concluded, ‘We would like to raise as much money as possible to help fund more research into Alzheimer’s and Vascular Dementia and to help those people that already have it or need help looking after someone – we would be extremely grateful to anyone that would like to sponsor us.’
