Extreme Networks appoints David Hume as chief information officer

Hume has over 20 years experience in the technology industry including successful tenures at Lenovo and IBM, where he was instrumental in IBM’s divestiture project following the sale of its PC division to Lenovo – separating the business, accelerating the organisational integration, simplifying the business and IT designs, while building Lenovo’s new global IT design. Hume also served as a global delivery executive for Lenovo overseeing the deployment of its strategic design and served as the key interface between IT, global application and infrastructure design, and business teams. More recently he was involved in the Lenovo acquisition of IBM’s low-end server business.

‘David’s breadth of industry experience includes technology design and implementation, establishing business processes and managing thousands of employees globally,’ said Frank Blohm, executive vice president of operations and IT at Extreme Networks. ‘His unique leadership skills and many accomplishments make him a perfect fit for Extreme Networks.’

‘I look forward to joining Extreme Networks as the company cultivates innovative technologies internally and for its customers,’ said Hume.  ‘Joining a team that is ready to set the pace and build a global network leader makes for an exciting opportunity.’
