CIE-GROUP delivers HDBaseT expert installer training program

The course was attended by over 70 professional AV engineers, at a series of one-day courses which took place in Nottingham, Farnborough and Leeds.

The HDBaseT Installer Expert program was launched by the Alliance in 2014 and almost 2000 delegates throughout the world have now completed the course. However, this is the first time the program has been delivered here in the UK, making the recent graduates the very first official HDBaseT Expert Installers in the UK to achieve this certification.

Hosted by UK AV distributors CIE-Group, the course covers HDBaseT technology principles, installation advice and best practices, product certification and interoperability, and includes hands-on tutorial and comprehensive demonstrations.

Each course, in partnership with the Alliance, was presented by HDBaseT installation expert and director of customer experience at Valens, Ariel Marcus. He commented, ‘Most of the questions that I’m hearing at the moment are related to HDBaseT cabling, how to connect the cables, what type of cables to use, should it be a shielded cable and will it fit all the needs. This is why training is so important to ensure installers are prepared with the most up-to-date knowledge.’

Martin Featherstone, CYP product manager and HDBaseT expert at CIE-Group, assisted Ariel during training and commented on the diverse range of attendees on the course. He said, ‘We’ve had a mixture of installers attending, some who are working with HDBaseT already, others who are installing HDBaseT for the first time and those who are looking to adapt to the technology. We’ve also had people that usually install IT infrastructure networks, as well as those that are used to installing AV and a few from the electrical market too.’

The next HDBaseT Installer Expert Program training dates will be announced soon, to register visit: www.cie-group.com/hdbaset
