Independent data centres unite to change industry perception

The EDCG currently comprises four businesses across the UK; City Lifeline, Next Connex, Aegis Data, and Migsolv. The member companies joined forces to compete with industry leaders for large contracts and prove that exceptional service levels and size of business don’t always go hand in hand. Between them, they can offer a powerful combination of geographically separated data centres and fast, reliable data communications.

The group launched on 9th December at the Next Connex ‘Channel Partner Day’ and Roger Keenan, managing director of City Lifeline, is proud to be one of the founding members.

He said, ‘An unfortunate truth of today’s business world is that large businesses rarely look past the data centre industry leaders who monopolise the marketplace. There is an assumption that larger, better known brands are best so customers sometimes don’t even consider partnering with a smaller, independent data centre. By creating the EDCG, we intend to change this.’
