Eaton launches series of power management videos for IT managers  and resellers

Eaton Corporation’s Power Quality business has launched a new addition to the company’s information toolkit for IT professionals and resellers.

Power 101 with Professor Wattson will provide a series of helpful videos covering all aspects of IT power management, presented by Professor Wattson, an enthusiastic, animated retired college professor. The first video, VA versus Watts, is already available on the company’s dedicated power quality website and teaches the importance of understanding UPS power ratings, which are often misunderstood. Future lessons from the professor will cover topics like virtualisation, batteries and maintenance bypass.

Power 101 with Professor Wattson is a continuation of Eaton’s ‘Things Have Changed’ marketing campaign, an initiative that underscores the company’s expertise in information technology (IT) and data centre solutions while positioning Eaton as a company that ‘gets IT’. Professor Wattson studied electrical, mechanical, and computer engineering before lecturing in Power 101 for the last 23 years.

Paul Norgate, IT & national channel sales manager, Eaton, explained, ‘IT professionals do not have time to spend hours searching for information so we have created the Power 101 series of short videos to answer common power quality questions. We decided to use Professor Wattson to present the videos to make the technical information easy to digest and inject an element of enthusiasm and a little humour. He even has his very own quirky personality being a devoted Arsenal fan and a facial hair enthusiast!’

The ‘Things Have Changed’ campaign allows Eaton to directly engage with IT professionals and drive new lead generation opportunities for key Eaton PowerAdvantage resellers.
