WorldSkills London 2011 will be the world’s largest, international skills competition with young people from across the globe competing to be the best of the best in their chosen skill.

Based at ExCeL London from 5th-8th October, WorldSkills London 2011 will see thousands of competitors from over 55 member countries/regions competing for gold across 46 skill competitions. Everything from landscape gardening to mobile robotics, hairdressing, fashion, technology, welding and IT is represented. As an official sponsor, Mills will be providing specialist communications tools and Fusion structured cabling for the Information Network Cabling competition.

‘We are delighted to sponsor the Network Cabling area at WorldSkills 2011. It provides us with a great opportunity to enthuse young people to develop the skills and expertise needed to fill the skills gaps that exist in our industry and support the next generation of network cabling talent,’ said Pete Rothy, marketing manager, Mills. ‘With 150,000 expected visitors including students from schools, colleges and training providers we see WorldSkills 2011 key in the promotion of the importance of vocational education and training and also to illustrate how further investment in skills and development will help the UK in uncertain economic times.’
